Producer
Responsibility
New definition of Producer to include manufacturers, importers, distributors that make packaging
available on the market for the first time. This is a shift in responsibility.
Scope of
Responsibility
• Producer responsibility may shift depending on role in the packaging supply chain
• Material Restrictions on certain substances, such as PFAS / SoC
• New packaging - Under the PPWR, tea bags and coffee capsules are also defined as packaging.
This means that starting from August 12, they must be reported together with other packaging
data.
Registration and
Reporting
• Producers will need to register and report packaging data to Repak and pay relevant fees. This
includes providing data on packaging type (material), weight, and recyclability.
Compliance
Management
• Producers must manage changes in accordance with timelines, and ongoing compliance,
including digital platforms for managing/accessing all PPWR technical documentation.
