Reuse & Refill obligations for Takeaway sector

Deadline: 12 February 2027
• Provide a system for consumers to bring their
own containers to be filled
• Inform consumers at the point of sale about the
possibility to obtain products in refillable
containers provided by the consumer
Article 33
Deadline: 12 February 2028
• Provide to consumers the option of packaging
within a system for reuse
• Inform consumers at the point of sale about the
possibility to obtain products in reusable formats
• Products filled in reusable packaging shall be
offered at no higher price and under no less
favourable conditions that single use options
Article 33 (5)
Deadline: 2030 onwards
• Offer 10% of products for sale in a reusable
packaging format
*Final distributors falling within the definition of micro enterprise are exempt
