Compostable packaging ARTICLE 9
By 12 February 2028, the following packaging shall be compatible with the
standard for composting in industrially controlled conditions in bio-waste
treatment facilities (and be suitable for home composting if the Member
State requires):
ɚ permeable tea, coffee or other beverage bags, or soft after-use system
single-serve units that contain tea, coffee or other beverages and which
is intended to be used and disposed of together with the product;
ɚ Sticky labels affixed to fruit and vegetables.
Packaging, including packaging made of biodegradable plastic polymers and
other biodegradable materials, shall allow material recycling, in accordance
with Article 6, and without affecting the recyclability of other waste streams.
